Love Walking Or Cycling
Sign up to become a Connect Tees Valley Walk or Ride Leader
Do you love getting out on walks or exploring by bike?
Fancy sharing your passion with the community and getting other people active?
Throughout the Tees Valley we are supporting volunteer led walks and cycle rides to help people get more active and enjoy our wonderful places! And we need you to make it happen!
What You'll Do
As a Walk Leader you'll be trained up to help lead walks as part of the successful 'Walking For Health' Programme (see below). Different communities across the Tees Valley are already enjoying a programme of accessible walks. But we want more leader's to increase the number of walks so more people can join in, feel connected and be happy!
As a Ride Leader you'll be trained up to help lead a new series of public rides across the Tees Valley. We want Ride Leaders to help their communities get into cycling, through leading regular public rides. To help people find out how fun it can be on two wheels!
Training - Whats involved
Delivered by National Walking and Cycling Charity Sustrans and local partners across the five local authorities. You'll be expertly trained up to become an Active Travel Champion. Receiving all the FREE support and help you'll need along the way.
You can sign up as a Walk Leader - You'll be trained in how to lead a walk, go over health and safety considerations and work as part of a team.
Or a Ride Leader - We'll train you to lead a group on a ride, show you how to plan a ride, go over health and safety considerations and up-skill you in essential bike maintenance.
